Downtown buildings can become the setting for a different kind of evening when a storyteller leads the way. Spirits of Wake Forest pairs Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. with Firebox Theatre Company for seasonal ghost walks through the historic business district, primarily along South White Street.
The town’s current October schedule runs through October 30, with Thursday and Friday departures at 6:30 and 8 p.m. and several Saturday departures. Tickets are advertised at $20 per person, subject to availability; use the linked 2026 ticket page to select an actual date. Every attendee, including children, requires a ticket, and each tour is limited to twenty people.

Walks meet outside Town Hall at 301 South Brooks Street and last around an hour and fifteen minutes. They do not enter the private residences on North and South Main streets. The organizer does not recommend the subject matter and length for children under eight, and attendees under seventeen must be accompanied by an adult.
Treat the experience as theatrical storytelling and local folklore, rather than proof that supernatural claims are established facts. Read the organizer’s current weather, waiver and visitor instructions before booking. Comfortable walking plans and a confirmed departure leave room to enjoy how a voice, a street and the evening light can change the atmosphere of a familiar place.
